How good would Babe Ruth be in 2009?

Feb 6th is Babe Ruth's Birthday

Now saying that I have to wonder How good would Babe Ruth would be in today's game.
You have to remember that he totally dominated the game, Very much like how Wilt Chamberlain dominated the NBA in the early 60s or Wayne Gretzky dominated the NHL in the 80s.
I look at Ruth and figure the way the game has changed, he would not be quite as good as he was in the 20s..
As a matter of fact, I say that his stats would be...
Avg.....297..
HR.......31..
RBIs--98..
Now I know what you are saying...."Hey Nutball you are an idiot..How can you say that he would hit like that...Surly he would be as good if not better and more dominate than he was in the 1920s."
But all I could say is. I really doubt it..All you people are forgetting one little thing...
He is going to be 114 Years Old (Born Feb 6 1895)..You cannot expect him to be that good.

Happy Birthday Babe.

Funny stuff. That reminds me of one of my favorite moments in the movie Cobb. If you haven't watched it, check it out, it's pretty good.

Anyway they ask Ty Cobb what he'd hit against today's players and he said .260 or something. The guy asked him why and Cobb says "cause I'm 60 expletive years old you expletive." Something to that effect. Funny stuff.

I used to hear talk about Ted Williams that way also. Heck Jim Brown and Deacon Jones think they can still dominate the league today.

I think that The Babe would do good in 2009. One thing,he never used steroids to get stronger nad I am glad that MLB is doing something about the steroids isssue. He would make an impression on the young players of today. They would learn from him and become better hitters.

Happy Birthday to Babe .... stats seem reasonable to me for a guy his age and talent.
