How to make Don Mattingly a Legendary Yankee Of All Time

Just saw this on Paul Francis Sullivan's Terrific Blog Sully Baseball

http://sullybaseball.blogspot.com/2009/10/what-will-this-world-series-have-in.html

Here is what he had to say. (Well Done Sully)

What will this World Series have in common with every other World Series EVER?
Don Mattingly won't be involved in it.
I wrote a post last year about Mattingly's astonishingly bad luck in terms of getting into a World Series... and sadly the post remains relevant.
Chances are he'll be managing next season somewhere and David Lennon at Newsday has Donnie Baseball being a prime candidate for taking over the Indians job.
Wow, if there was a place that had WORSE post season karma than Don Mattingly IT'S CLEVELAND!!!
Maybe the bad karma will cancel each other out.

My Comment. I have a better idea, When Terry Francona retires I feel the Boston Red Sox should give Donny Baseball a 10 year Contract to manage the Boston Red Sox or at the very least put him in as a uniformed coach, As a Yankee Fan we can say with his record We as Yankee Fans will Love him forever and thank him for putting on a Red Sox Uniform. Thanks Sully for reminding me of the Mattingly Record (Curse) and for my inspiring me to come up with this idea.

Donnie Baseball is my favorite Yankee of all-time, I don't think my mind would be able to process him being a Sox uniform. Kind of like that year that Bernie wanted to go play in Boston for more money, it just doesn't seem right.

I feel for the guy, he deserves to at least smell a World Series once in his career. He missed it as a player, so hopefully someday as a coach/manager.

Rad There is a guy who played, coached and manged forever without even getting in the World Series then one year he went to a team and went to the World Series and won that year, then after not making it to the World series that year he went on to win the next 3 and managed in 2 more.
Is Don Mattingly the next Joe Torre?
Maybe he can manage somewhere else, (Not Boston) maybe St Louis or Atlanta after LaRussa or Cox retires after next season, Then a couple years later come to the Yankees and manage a Dynasty like Torre.(What a Story)
